Sapheravi is Georgain standart, well-known grape sort. It is one of the best representatives of world wide red grape sorts assortment.

Sapheravi gives especially high quality red table wine in its homeland - Kakheti.

Sapheravi is Georgian grape sort, it was formed from grape sorts local forms. Historical sources about where and when was given birth to Sapheravi are unknown. According to sources of academician I.Javakhishvili (6), Georgian economical historical sources earlier than XIII century aren’t defended and are unknown. Despite this, according to non-historical sources is possible to define approximate date and place of birth of Sapheravi.

Considering Sapheravi as oldest sort is possible with its morphological signs - thick webby hairiness of lower side of foliages intensive dark color of grains and another steadiness of signs.

Sapheravi is typical wine sort. Its recycling direction is defined with ecological condition of the region: moderately warm climate areas accordingly to chemical structure of grape juice is made Sapheravi table red wine, and in hot climate areas on the whole are making strong and desert wines.

Sapheravi is excellent sort for wine making. It gives the best material for wine almost for all the types of wines. Sapheravis high quality is best shown in defined macro and micro regions soil and climate conditions.

Kakhetian red wines made from Sapheravi with their intensive dark pomegranate color, moderate hardness, energy, fullness and joy, also with its aroma and strong bouquet after old-fashioning, are the same as Bordeaux and Burgundian wines, which are known as the best in whole world.

Burgundian type best red table wines are given by Sapheravi grown in Kakhety, on the right cost of Alazani River, on Tsivgombori Mountains weakly askewed sides, on the whole medium and strong humus-carbonmate soils. Such as: higher Khodasheni, Tsinandali, Shashiani, Vazisubani, Akhasheni, Mukuzani, Gurjaani and other.

Comparatively more soft, Bordeaux type, harmonious, vivid wines are made from Sapheravi grapes grown on left cost of the river Alazani - Caucausus, foothills stripes, on the whole in skeleton like, alluvial-carbonate and alluvial-non-carbonate soils. Such as: Kvareli (Kindzmarauli), Naphareuli, Sabui, Artani (Sanavardo) and other places.

Local-Kakhetian type, best, rich with body, full red wines are made from Sapheravi grown in micro regions of Kardanakhi and Bakurtsikhe, on the whole on brown and dark brown wood soils. With mechanical structure these soils are not too heavy, and contain much calcium carbonates, iron and flint, which gives wine intensive color, body, fullness, harmony and bouquet.

In fact, Sapheravi has first place in whole world between red wines for its high organoleptic properties, intensive color, body, fullness, constituents harmonious mixture and strong bouquet in old age.

The Wimery Karasani produces red dry wine and red half sweet wine "Kindzmarauli", to produce which Sapheravi sort grapes are picked in Kindzmarauli micro zone.
